Windsor Locks is located on the west bank of the Connecticut River, 12 miles north of Hartford and 13 miles south of Springfield, Massachusetts. It is 2.5 hours from New York City, 2 hours from Boston, and 1.5 hours from the top northeastern U.S. ski resorts and Long Island Sound beaches.

As the home of Bradley International Airport, Windsor Locks serves as a major northeastern distribution center (home to regional American Honda, Federal Express, and UPS facilities) and as a home for aerospace products (Hamilton Sundstrand) and many paper goods (Ahlstrom-Dexter, LLC).

Part of the north-south I-91 corridor that stretches from the Canadian border to Long Island Sound, Windsor Locks is served by Amtrak and major bus lines. Windsor Locks is the proud home of Bradley International Airport, New England’s second largest airport.
