Holiday Gift Giving

If you are interested in donating to the Project Christmas Elf, the following are guidelines you may follow. All toys donated to this project, stay in Windsor Locks.

New, unwrapped toys are always accepted for children 10 years of age and under.

Gift cards are accepted for children 10-16. Suggested cards are Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Circuit City, Barnes & Noble, etc. Also movie tickets are a good suggestion for the older kids.

Toys may be dropped off at the Town Hall Social Services office during normal office hours or the Police Department.

The Police Auxiliary is also collecting toys in front of Ocean State Job Lot in Windsor Locks on the following dates: December 7 & 8, December 14, & 15, and December 21 & 22. Please help fill the cruiser.

The Windsor Locks Cleaners is also a drop-off for Project Christmas Elf.

This program is very unique. You may request an entire family to adopt for the holiday season. In this program you receive:

The first names of the children in your family and a family number. You will also receive the first name of your child/children, age, sex, clothes sizes and a wishlist.

Buy the presents for the family, wrap them, put their name and family number on each gift.

Bring you wrapped gifts to the Social Services department by December 17th so be distributed to the family.

To see the faces of the families who receive these gifts is priceless. Tears often flow when the family receives the gifts, they are truely grateful.
