FAQ's

How do I dispose of a Matress or Boxspring?
Mattresses and boxprings can be picked up as part of bulk collections on Thursday, but a $10.00 per item disposal fee must first be paid at the Public Works Office.

What do I do with an old TV or Computer since they aren't picked up at the curb?
Residents may bring them to the Public Works Department.  Click here for more information about Electronics Recycling.

What do I do with an old propane tank?
Propane Tanks are not acceptable in your regular household trash, nor will they be picked up curbside.  Some local hardware stores will accept them for a small convenience fee, but always call first! (Hawthorne's Agway in Enfield 860-749-8189).

What do I do with old car tires?
Tires may be removed from the rims and placed inside your household trash barrel (green can only) for pick up on your regular trash pick up day.

How do I get rid of paint?
Waterbased or Latex paint can be dried out and placed in your household trash.  Empty cans should also be put into the trash (not your recycle barrel).  You can also recycle your leftover paint at many Sherwin-Willams Stores.  Click here to find a local drop-off location and read the restrictions.
